HOW TO CREATE AN AWARD WINNING SALON

|
Michele Pelafas Salon of the Year 2019

SALON TODAY MAGAZINE DESIGN CONTEST

WE PLACED IN TWO CATEGORIES!

We are excited to share that two of our salon owner’s entries were selected as Salon of the Year by Salon Today Magazine for the 2019 design contest.  LaBelle Nail Bar of Ardmore, PA was selected as the grand prize for the Nail Salon category winning the title of Nail Salon of the Year.  Nouveau Departe, Chicago, IL won Salon of Distinction.  Michele Pelafas, Inc. has a history of creating award winning designs that place in the Salon of the Year contest held each year.  We are a beauty design and furniture company specializing in creating beauty environments for hair salons, nail spas, medical spas and beauty boutiques.

There are many factors that go into creating an award winning design and a salon of the year.  As you can imagine, it is not just about creating a beautiful interior.  Our interiors have a unique aesthetic and are designed for productivity and profitability with salon furniture, lighting, materials and finishes that lend themselves to award winning designs.  We take a holistic approach to these designs drawing upon human factors so that both the guest and the staff are comfortable which helps with effectiveness and productivity.  We implement the essential details that draws new business and helps retain existing clientele because of our inviting look, feel and relaxing atmosphere, leading to incremental revenue and profits.

LaBelle Nail Bar is the epitome of a salon of the year, a unique salon design with its bright, open and refreshing space and a touch of femininity.  With this interior, the nail salon was designed for relaxation and rejuvenation.  As an example, there is a feeling that the interior surpasses the walls due to its picturesque windows allowing the beauty of natural light to enter the space. When creating a salon of the year, we focus on the details.  Here, with an extensive wall dedicated to nails and the adjacent exclusively for pedicure, this interior feels purposeful and artful. There remains an element of coziness without causing consumers to feel secluded, but instead welcomed with a stylish open floor plan. What sets this interior apart from others is found in the small details that work together harmoniously. It is the vintage-style flooring that contrasts the tone of the unique scroll back of the manicure stools and softness of the pale grey Stella Pedicure Chairs.  Here are some of our favorite features:

  1.  The glamorous reception area is chic, tailored and luxurious with our fully upholstered reception desk and chandelier.  First impressions are lasting impressions in any salon of the year interior.
  2.  The pedicure seating is a complete departure from the traditional pedicure spa with customized fabric and finishes to offer comfort, style and sophistication.  The pedicure chairs separate this interior from its competition, lending itself to the ultimate customer experience in a safe and relaxing environment.
  3.  The amenities throughout such as the beverage station, cleansing station, polish display and quick wax niche make the client feel pampered and cared for.  Every detail was thought through for an awarding winning Salon of the Year design.
“EVERY DETAIL WAS THOUGHT THROUGH FROM TOWEL STORAGE TO ELECTRICAL OUTLET LOCATIONS.”

“I CANNOT THANK MICHELE, RITA AND THE REST OF THE TEAM FOR ALL THE WORK THAT WENT INTO DESIGNING MY DREAM SALON. IT TURNED OUT BETTER THAN WANT I HAD IMAGINED.

AS A FIRST-TIME BUSINESS OWNER, THEY DESIGNED MY SALON TO STAND OUT FROM THE COUNTLESS NAIL SALONS AROUND ME AND THEY ALWAYS HAD MY BEST INTEREST IN MIND. I AM THRILLED TO BE NAMED 2019 NAIL SALON OF THE YEAR BY SALON TODAY.EVERYONE WAS AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO WORK WITH AND I LOOK FORWARD TO MY NEXT PROJECT. ”
